The Kaunas Picture Gallery and Bōheme House Restaurant invite you to a unique experience — a journey back in time to a late Soviet-era breakfast.

We invite you to nostalgic breakfast moments where food becomes an immersive experience, weaving together personal and collective memory. It is a dialogue about the passage of time, the significance of childhood flavors, and their reflections in contemporary cuisine. This event invites you to reconsider how simple elements shape our identity and how they can be rediscovered through a more mature perspective. Each bite will reinterpret memories through modern gastronomic pairings, inviting meaningful dialogue between the past and the present.

Before gathering around the breakfast table, surrounded by the scenographic stained-glass artworks of "Pasaka", a private guided tour will awaken childhood memories. The exhibition “Pasaka. Childhood in Lithuania During the Late Soviet Era” offers a journey through contrasting childhood experiences — from life in Soviet micro-districts to small unknown towns, from the oppressive system to the imagination nurtured by art. Spanning all three floors of the Picture Gallery, the exhibition captures the rich diversity of late Soviet-era childhoods.
