The writer’s goal is to speak about what is troubling yet inevitable, helping children understand what is happening around them and why. Despite the fact that the main narrator of the book is a young boy, the author dedicates her work to an audience of all ages—those experiencing the changes of old age themselves, those caring for elderly parents, and, of course, the little ones facing unusual behavior from their grandparents.
